Dearest gentle reader… While we are still enjoying the romantic escapades of Penelope and Colin from season 3, Netflix comes with great news again: the fourth season has officially been announced! The main character in this storyline? None other than Benedict Bridgerton.

In an official statement, Netflix already revealed a few things about the fourth season. “An unforgettable masked ball is coming to Mayfair – and with it, Benedict as the lead of Bridgerton season 4,” they reveal. “That’s right, the man who once bleated from the corner of the ballroom is about to become the center of the marriage market as he searches for a mysterious woman known as The Lady in Silver.” Love and a touch of mystery? We can’t wait.
The actor who plays Benedict, Luke Thompson, also gives a sneak peek of what we can expect from ‘his’ season. “Benedict has always been a little bit lost – or free, depending on how you want to look at it. But now he’s trying to find something more solid within himself,” he says. Oh my!
Executive producer Jess Brownell says she’s really excited for this new “phase of life” for Benedict. “It felt important to give him the space to fully explore himself before he settled down,” she tells Tudum. “He’s a big guy, and we wanted to see him live a big life before he goes into settle mode.”
Bridgerton season 4 release date
We can understand that you are already completely excited for this new season. Unfortunately, we have some bad news: although we already know that season four will consist of eight episodes again, nothing has been announced about the release date. It is expected that this will not be before 2026. Sigh… until then we will have to watch the first three seasons again binge watch. No punishment either!
