Queen Máxima provides color on the last day of her working visit

And so the visit came to a colorful end!

You could hardly have missed the fact that our royal couple traveled to the United States this week, where they had a busy schedule. Before the couple fly back to the Netherlands today, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima made one last set of appearances yesterday. Our queen provided a cheerful burst of color!

Busy busy busy

Willem-Alexander and Máxima visited the United States for only four days. Of course, as royal envoys you will have a nice full program to choose from. From mixing console to museum and from laboratory to loose hips: the Oranjes never had to be bored for a moment!

Naturally, a number of visits were also planned to strengthen business and political ties. Yesterday, the couple was guests in The Spiral, an impressive skyscraper in the middle of Manhattan. The closing reception of the visit took place here, to which local politicians and representatives of New York companies from both the US and the Netherlands were invited.

Sunshine in the house

Although the weather in the Netherlands currently leaves a lot to be desired with all its gray skies, Wim-Lex and Máx have been able to fully enjoy the sun in recent days. And hey, even if the sun doesn’t shine, Máxima’s cheerful appearance is of course the sunshine in the house!

For example, the fashion expert behind Instagram account @RoyalFashionPolice reports that the cheerful color block dress of the queen here is a Carolina Herrera copy. She combined this with a set of matching red pumps from Miu Miu and clutch from Valentino, both of which she had worn before.

Satisfying

Naturally, our king also had to give a speech at this closing reception. In it he thanked Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams for their hospitality, and thanked them both for their hospitality. The monarch also reflected on the shared history of the Netherlands and New York.

“In 2009, the Queen and I were here to celebrate Hudson Year, the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first Dutch ship on these coasts – the Halve Maen. Now we look back on another milestone: the establishment of the Dutch colony on Governors Island in 1624.”

In short: a visit that you will look back on with great satisfaction!
