An evening full of glitter and glamour!
Prince William and Princess Kate enjoyed a wonderful musical evening on Thursday evening during the annual Royal Variety Performance. However, they did not spend this meaningful evening alone with each other, but together with the Swedish royals Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, who are currently on a three-day visit to Great Britain.
Royal Variety Performance
Every year the absolute top of the Commonwealth’s entertainment world is invited to the big Royal Variety Performance. Comedians, singers and bands, theater, theater and even magic: they all put their best foot forward to impress the royals. This year, the Swedish crown prince couple were also in the country for a three-day working visit, which meant: a royal double date to the Royal Albert Hall in London! The Prince and Princess of Wales went to the music festival together with the Swedish royals to admire singer Cher on the British stage.
On a double date
At the request of the Swedish government, the Swedish royals will travel to England to attend the event. It is therefore not surprising that the foursome went out together, since Victoria and Daniel were invited to the wedding of the British crown princely couple, and a pregnant Kate and Wills visited them in 2018. The bond between the four seems to be going well since 2018. For example, Kate and Victoria share many common interests. After their marriage in 2010, Victoria and Daniel decided to set up a foundation with the aim of helping children and young people escape social isolation, something the Princess of Wales is also strongly committed to.
Most beautiful outfit in the closet
Princess Kate appeared in a blue-green evening dress from Safiyaa. A classic design with a nice dose of drama on the sleeves! Her suede Gianvito Rossi pumps in the same color complemented the beautiful dress perfectly. She styled the look with a silver Jenny Packham clutch, a bracelet that seems to match the dress’s glittering neckline, and subtle earrings – hidden beneath her perfectly blow-dried hairstyle.
For the occasion, Victoria wore an off-shoulder dress with black feathers from the Swedish label Toteme. Although we got some Pino vibes from this choice at first glance, it certainly doesn’t look out of place for the Crown Princess. She looks elegant, with her locks in her signature tight bun. She accessorized her look with chunky gold jewelry and a clutch from the same label as her gown.
Both gentlemen wore a nice tuxedo – always good, even in royal circles!
Festive spectacle
Ahead of the show, the foursome spoke to representatives from the Royal Variety Charity, which supports people working in the entertainment industry who need care and help. They also met the artists who appeared on stage later in the evening. In short: a lot of shaking hands where the question is who is more nervous to meet whom.
This was followed by a dazzling musical evening, including performances by pop rock band McFly, singer Rick Astley, pop singer Zara Larsson and singer-songwriter Paloma Faith.
It is a pity that we were not able to catch the foursome shaking their hips in the snapshots. Something for the next double date then?
