Emotional Albert and Charlene after home win at Formula 1

The Serene Highnesses felt a bit angry for a moment.

Last week, Formula 1 madness for the 81st Monaco Grand Prix descended on the microstate of the mega-rich. The princely boy next door, Charles Leclerc, took home the win. And that did not leave Prince Albert and Princess Charlene unmoved!

Grimaldi Grand Prix

With only two square kilometers, it is pleasantly busy every year during the Monaco Grand Prix. Yet among all the lightning-fast cars and F1 celebrities, there also appears to be plenty of room for the tons to show themselves at the circuit.

Many Grimaldi descendants were present at the racing festival! They included Princess Stéphanie’s eldest son and youngest daughter, Louis Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb. Together with Louis’ husband, Marie Ducruet, they passed by the line.

Of course, the two designer ambassadors of ‘their’ brand were also present: Charlotte Casiraghi in casual Chanel, and Beatrice Borromeo in classic Dior. Would they have agreed on the matching black and white outfits?

In any case, Princess Caroline’s daughter and daughter-in-law look absolutely beautiful – even without their mother-in-law next to them.

And of course there was Princess Charlene, side by side with husband Prince Albert. As with previous Formula 1 activities, the princess wore a Louis Vuitton outfit that was as cool as it was classic. Gorgeous!

There was also one little mystery guest who barely stuck his head above the dashboard during the lap of honor with Prince Albert in a bright orange McLaren…

…Surprise! It was little Prince Jacques.

Emotional moment

Although all eyes were of course on the drivers this weekend, the princely couple still stood out with a particularly emotional moment. It was the first time that the Monegasque driver, Charles Leclerc, won during this home race.

As a child at home with the princely couple, it is not surprising that Their Serene Highnesses sympathized with the young driver. And Prince Albert in particular even became foggy, as the images show.

Oh dear, that Albert! Luckily he had Princess Charlene by his side to give him an encouraging pat on the back. Via their official Instagram account, the princely court spoke of a ‘historic victory’ in the Principality. On to the 82nd Grand Prix, then!
