Gers Pardoelen revealed at the beginning of the year that he has a new flame in his life: the Flemish Lie Meurs, known for reality programs such as Ex on the Beach and Temptation Island VIPS, has stolen his heart. The singer is head over heels in love and already knew after their second date that he wanted to marry her.
Crying my eyes out
While Gers participated in the Flemish version of Special Forces, he had to endure the tough recordings while he was still dating Lie. “That was really intense,” he tells HLN. “I’m normally not prone to tears, but I really cried a lot there.” Gers traveled to South Africa for the program, which was anything but easy. “But at the same time, it was incredibly difficult to leave her behind so soon. Because just thinking about her drives me crazy.” Cute!
Meeting of Gers and Lie
How did the two meet? Well, the singer spotted Lie on Instagram, took his chance and sent her a message. “We met up and talked for hours. It was immediately very special.” There was an immediate click and this provided new inspiration for Gers’ music. “As soon as I got home, I immediately started writing music.”
‘I didn’t hesitate for a moment’
After three months they made their relationship official. She still remains a source of inspiration for Gers’ music. “She inspires me, I’m really happy.” Even though they don’t live near each other, they try to spend as much time together as possible. Gers is determined to propose to her soon. “Never before have I been so sure of love,” he says. “I didn’t hesitate for a moment, I knew immediately.”
‘She makes my day brighter’
By this, Gers does not mean that he has not felt love in his previous relationships, but he does want to emphasize that he has never experienced these feelings for Lie before. “She makes my days brighter. It’s difficult to explain and I can barely put into words what I feel.”
