Last night a new season of Buying Without Looking started on RTL 4. The popular program where Martijn Krabbé and his team help home seekers find a new home (without the participants seeing the home themselves first). You just have to dare. Myra and Toon in Buying Without Looking
The first episode focuses on single mother Myra (42) and her son Toon (10). This is a first, because never before has only one home-seeking family or couple been central. Not only that is a first in this program, because Martijn and his team have never followed a single mother before. Real estate agent Alex van Keulen immediately noted that Toon is the youngest participant ever in this program.
No chance of success
Myra and Toon live in a small house in Rotterdam Blijdorp. Their wish is simple: they want a single-family home with at least three bedrooms and a nice garden. Should this really not work? Then Myra and Toon don’t mind living in the village of Bergschenhoek. They have a budget of 480,000; That should work, you would think. Yet this quest is almost impossible for Myra as a single mother. “You are not seen as a serious party,” Myra says in the episode. Even with an offer of 70 thousand above the asking price, this was not possible.
A new house
Purchasing agent Alex van Keulen and construction expert Bob Sikkes manage to find a beautiful home for Myra and Toon. They have found a home in a popular neighborhood of Myra. That makes Myra and Toon very happy: their enthusiasm radiates from the screen. The house is completely in Myra’s style and Toon’s wishes have all become reality. For example, he wanted a window in his room. Well, that’s glitched.
