Kensington Palace shares first photo of Princess Kate after abdominal surgery

“Thank you for your continued support over the past two months,” the princess shared.

While we only celebrate Mother’s Day on May 12 this year, the British are putting their mothers in the spotlight today. Traditionally, Kensington Palace also shares a beautiful photo of Kate Middleton with the children in honor of this day. Something that is extra special this time, as this is the first photo that Kensington Palace has shared of the princess since her abdominal surgery in January.

mothers Day

Today Mothering Sunday is celebrated in the United Kingdom. Princess Kate is also celebrating this special day with her offspring and a brand new family portrait is being shared on X and Instagram to mark the occasion. The photo – which was taken by Prince William – shows a smiling Kate, together with her children Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.

Princess Kate wishes everyone a happy Mother’s Day, but also takes a moment to reflect on all the sweet messages she has received. She thanks everyone for the support after her operation. “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the past two months,” the princess shares.

Abdominal surgery

The Princess of Wales was admitted to the London Clinic in mid-January for a planned abdominal operation. Kensington Palace said in a statement at the time that the operation was successful and that Kate would remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days. It was also announced that we could only expect Princess Catherine in public again around Easter. What exactly is going on with Kate? The Firm remains tight-lipped about this.

Conspiracy theories

Despite (or precisely because of) this silence from Kensington Palace, there is plenty of speculation about Kate’s status by tabloid media and royalty watchers on social media. Wilder conspiracy theories went around about Kate’s absence.

Prince William has also seen the conspiracy theories and has responded to them through his spokesperson. “The prince’s focus is on his work and not on social media.” Short and sweet, right? So we can conclude from this that the theories going around are not correct.
