Plans in the evening, but would you secretly prefer to stay at home? These are five reasons to take a couch potato.
Would rather sit on the couch
You know how it is: your friends want to go out on Friday or Saturday evening, but you prefer to see it differently. An evening on the couch watching your favorite series with a bowl of popcorn can be just as fun as an evening on the terrace or dancing. These reasons prove that it is okay if you want to relax every now and then, alone, with your partner or your (best) friends.
1. No stress
Organizing a night out with a group of friends can sometimes be very stressful. Not everyone can go on the same days, and some can’t go all evening. In addition, the question is: who is driving? and who else should we ask along? We understand if you want to avoid this stress, so staying home and sitting on the couch is the best option.
2.Self-care
Sometimes you have the necessary self care in mind, and there is really nothing wrong with that. Spending an evening alone or with your partner helps you recharge completely. You can also strengthen your relationship through some quality time. Whether you cook together, take a bath or watch a movie, you both deserve it after such a tough week. That going out will happen again next week.
3. Anti social pressure
Although you often have a lot of fun when going out, there is always a special kind of pressure to have fun and be social. That can sometimes be very tiring. At home you don’t have to worry about that: you can always be yourself, without worrying about what others think of you. There’s no shame in walking around in those pajamas you bought five years ago with a face mask on because there’s no one around you to form an opinion.
4. Save money
It costs quite a bit, life. And especially when it comes to going out: think about transport, entrance, wardrobe, drinks and food, that will certainly cost you some pocket money. Spending the evening at home saves you a lot of money, and it’s also a good excuse if you didn’t want to go through with the plans anyway and would rather just sit on the couch.
5. Flexible
Do you have dinner plans? Then you will have to prepare well in advance, calculate how far the restaurant is from your location and stick to a strict schedule. Not everyone wants that. Moreover: at home you eat when you want and you can look however you want. So relax on the couch with your home-made meal.
