That could be possible, because this afternoon the queen will leave for Paris for the opening of the exhibition ‘Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses’.

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the largest museum for decorative arts in Europe, has invited Van Herpen to exhibit in tribute to her progressive designs. Van Herpen combines traditional couture craftsmanship with the use of innovative techniques. To give you an example of the latter: Máxima’s wave dress by Iris van Herpen was made using a laser cut technique.

After the opening, Queen Máxima will receive a tour where she will speak with curator Cloé Pitiot and co-curator Louise Curtis and the compilers of the nine themes. Queen Máxima will also discuss the creation of the exhibition with those involved in the museum and Van Herpen’s studio.

Key question
Now we have to wait for the first images, which will be online around six o’clock. The key question: will Máxima wear a (new) creation by Iris van Herpen or will she miss this opportunity?
