5 Tips to ensure that you don’t take your work with you on holiday

So that you can enjoy your well-deserved holiday in peace!

Quickly read emails, make a phone call or inform that one colleague about a number of matters. We often take it for granted that it is anything but good for you, while it can prevent you from experiencing the ultimate holiday feeling. Elegance has therefore listed tips that can ensure that you can enjoy your well-deserved holiday with peace of mind from now on.

Five tips

1. Out of office
If you ensure that all your email contacts receive an automatic response stating that you are absent, everyone knows where they stand and that they should therefore contact someone else. If you also turn on your notification a day earlier, you will find that you can let go of your work and go on holiday completely relaxed.

2. Inform your colleagues in a timely manner
Let the people you work with know well in advance the period you will not be working, so that they can take this into account. This prevents them from approaching you during your holiday because they still have urgent questions. In any case, make sure that you make clear agreements to avoid misunderstandings.

3. Leave your workplace tidy
If your desk, wherever it is now, is clean and orderly, there is no chaos in your head. As a result, you will not only leave on holiday with a much calmer feeling, but you will also notice that you are less stressed when you return.

4. Make sure you finish your work
You especially worry when half of your work is not yet finished, so make sure you have completed your work before your holiday or have handed it over to someone else. This will probably make you a bit busier before your holiday, but it will ensure that you leave with a good and satisfied feeling.

5. Turn off your email and leave your laptop at home
If you take all your work equipment with you on holiday, you are more likely to quickly open your email. So just leave everything at home and turn off your work email so you won’t be tempted. And are you in a What’s App group with colleagues? It may also be muted. After all, you’ve worked hard enough to take a well-deserved vacation, so enjoy it!
