Here’s what we know so far.
This weekend, the Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, tied the knot with Olivia Henson. From now on, Olivia can call herself the Duchess of Westminster. But who exactly is this mysterious Duchess of Westminster? We’ll tell you everything we know about her.
The Duke of Westminster
Hugh and Olivia met in 2021 through mutual friends. Two years after their meeting, the couple announced that they were engaged. With a casual photo on the grounds of his family home, the two broke the news.
Before meeting, Hugh was one of Britain’s most eligible bachelors. His estimated net worth of 12.8 billion made him the richest person in Britain under the age of 40. In 2016, Hugh’s father passed away, leaving him with the title Duke of Westminster.
Olivia Henson
Even though Olivia is now married to the Duke of Westminster and can call herself the Duchess of Westminster, little is known about her.
She currently works as a senior account manager at Belazu, a company that trades in luxury food ingredients. Luckily, Olivia doesn’t have to give up work to take on royal duties. So it looks like Olivia will remain an account manager for a while.
Before becoming an account manager, Olivia studied at the prestigious Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Before that, Olivia attended Marlborough College, a private school for students aged 13 to 18. This school is not unknown in the Royal family, as Princess Eugenie and Princess Kate both attended this private school. This isn’t Olivia’s only similarity to Princess Kate. Just like Kate, Olivia, as an ‘ordinary’ bourgeois girl, became part of a noble family through her marriage.
Wedding
This weekend the time had come: Olivia married the Duke of Westminster. She looked beautiful in an ivory wedding dress by British bridal designer Emma Victoria Payne. The dress featured hand embroidery that included the couple’s initials and their wedding date. Olivia wore the Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara, which was made for the Grosvenor brides and has been with the Grosvenors since its creation in 1906. Her bridal bouquet also had a link with her in-laws. The flowers came from the garden of Eaton Hall, the family castle.
Now that Olivia is married to the Duke of Westminster, we expect we’ll continue to learn more about her!
