All glitter and glamour!
While Kate appeared at the Evelina children’s hospital in the afternoon in a blue trouser suit, in the evening she was able to pull out her gala dress including diadem. On Tuesday evening, the British royals organized the annual reception for the diplomatic corps. And of course there is a fairly specific dress code involved!
Pose
The reception is organized annually in honor of the diplomatic corps. So you can see it as a kind of royal thank you to all prominent figures and officials for their efforts over the year. Before the royal family received their guests at Buckingham Palace, time was set aside for a photo opportunity. For an event of this caliber, the most festive gala dresses and the most expensive tiaras are conjured up from the guests, and the royals of course happily participate in this. In short: it would be a shame not to capture this on camera, nun?
Royal robes
Queen Camilla presented herself as regal as ever in her off-white evening dress with detailed embroidery by Fiona Clare. She combined the well-known Girls of Great Britain and Ireland diadem. We know this tiara of course because it has become known over the years as the favorite tiara of the late Queen Elizabeth.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Princess of Wales dressed in a beautiful dark blue suit by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen for a working visit to the Evelina children’s hospital. In the evening, however, it was time for a more glamorous look. She chose an elegant, pink glitter dress by Jenny Packham, which we of course know from her appearance at the Jordanian royal wedding earlier this year, and photos on the occasion of her 50the birthday. On her head was the Lover’s bun tiara which, as we all know, is a big favorite of the princess. The gentlemen wore a chic, black tuxedo and combined the classic white bow tie.
Royal duties
And as is often the case at official royal moments like this, hands were shaken…

…and the oh-so-beautiful Kate entertained the guests without any effort.
Endgame
The joint royal display of the foursome can be regarded as a sign of solidarity regarding the fuss surrounding Omid Scobie’s book Endgame. After it turned out that the Dutch translation of the book contained the name of the royal family member who asked questions about the skin color of baby Archie, the British royal family could count on a lot of criticism.
This detail remains hidden in the English version of the book. But somehow the Dutch translation deviates considerably from the original. A tweet from royalty reporter Rick Evers, who was allowed to read a press copy of the book, shows exactly who had asked questions about Archie’s skin color. On page 128 of the book it is clearly written: “But in those private letters an identity was revealed and confirmed: Charles.” Oh dear!
