Where is King Frederik? Danish court provides clarity

However, it remains unclear why the Danish king continues to be conspicuous by his absence.

Queen Mary wears her new title with verve and makes working visit after working visit, but hubby Frederik has been nowhere to be seen lately. The Danish court has now announced when we can expect the king to appear again.

Where is Frederik?

Dressed in a cobalt blue suit from the British label The Fold, Queen Mary appeared in Copenhagen to celebrate the anniversary. And although the queen’s beautiful outfits are often talked about, this time King Frederik was the topic of conversation.

Very striking, since the king has not been spotted in public for a long time. His last royal outing was on March 22, when he celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Society for the Promotion of Natural Studies. However, that was not the last time he appeared with Mary. The last time he was spotted with his wife was a day earlier on March 21, when the couple attended the new exhibition Frederik X: King of Tomorrow.

Appearing in public

Many people started wondering when we will see King Frederik in public again. The Danish court has now also become aware of this, and has therefore recently revealed when the king will make his appearance again.

So it was reported that Frederik would appear on the balcony of the palace on his birthday on May 26. Frederik will reportedly be accompanied by Mary and their children Christian, Isabella, Vincent and Josephine.

Good tires

However, we can spot the king in public much earlier. He will make two more state visits together with Mary before his birthday. One to Sweden and one to Norway. Countries with which Denmark has good ties. And the royals from those countries are also no strangers to Frederik and Mary.

For example, the Danish royal couple are good friends with Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden. Victoria is even the godmother of Frederick and Mary’s son, Crown Prince Christian. And vice versa, Frederik is that of their youngest son, Prince Oscar.

The Norwegian royals also have a good relationship with Denmark. For example, King Frederik was a witness to King Haakon during the wedding of him and Queen Mette-Marit. And it is also certain that the ‘godfatherhood’ was not over yet. Haakon is also godfather of Crown Prince Christian.
