Swedish and Danish royals appear to be an extremely glamorous combination.
On Monday, King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived in Stockholm, where the new royal couple began their state visit to their Swedish colleagues. Traditionally, a state banquet took place in the evening and that was of course accompanied by the necessary glamor and tiaras.
State banquet
Frederik and Mary have started a real tour through Europe. The royal couple has quite a few visits planned, of which the state visit to Sweden is the first. Such a scoop naturally deserves a glamorous party, and that is precisely the specialty of the Zwoyals!
Traditionally, the Swedish royals were gathered for a state banquet with their Danish colleagues on Monday evening. And as is the case with a royal party (especially with the Swedes), there was a lot of bling involved.

Queen Silvia, who hosted the state banquet, made her appearance in a classical ensemble by Georg et Arend. The Leuchtenberg Sapphire Tiara adorned her head.
Queen Mary has clearly been on the recycling tour lately and she did not deviate from that new habit on Monday evening. The queen appeared in a Jesper Høvring dress that was already hanging in the closet. This time she wore it with a top with deep red embroidery. Of course, there were also a few jewels dangling here and there, with the Ruby Parure Tiara as the icing on the cake.
Princess Victoria never, ever disappoints at state banquets and this time was no exception. The Crown Princess made an appearance in a new, glitter-strewn designer gown Christer Lindarw and completed the look with the Connaught Diamond Tiara. Glamor at its finest!
Princess Sofia was also present. She opted for an Ida Lanto dress and – surprise, surprise – her wedding tiara. You would think that as Princess of Sweden you would have more crowns to choose from, but Sofia appears again and again with the same one. Clearly a favourite!
All in all, it was another very regal evening with a high level of glamour. More of this, please!
