According to British media, we will see the old familiar cast again.
In the autumn of 2022, the author of the Bridget Jones books and films already hinted at a fourth film, but we were in the dark for a long time as to whether and when this new part would actually be released. We now have good news: the film is coming, and filming is about to start.
Possible comeback
It’s been eight years since we last enjoyed Renée Zellweger as the iconic Bridget Jones in the film Bridget Jones’s Baby. Many thought this sequel to Bridget Jones’s Diary and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason was the end of the series. However, writer Helen Fielding changed that in 2022. In conversation with Radio Times, she already hinted at a possible comeback of the one and only Bridget Jones.
“Yes, I am working on it and I really hope it will happen,” she said about the possible new film. At the time, the writer was still careful. “Every film that is made is a miracle. It’s really hard to make good films. But I would like to see it on screen.”
Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy
We now know for sure: there will be a fourth Bridget Jones film. This is based on the book Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, which was published in 2013. In the book, Bridget struggles with her life as a single mother. It is not yet known when the film will be released, but filming will start in May.
Cast
According to British media, we will see Renée Zellweger again in her old familiar role, and we can also count on the iconic roles of Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant). Will the men compete for Bridget’s heart again in the new film? We will see!
