‘Sibling love’
Last Sunday there was a big party within the Monegasque palace walls. Jacques and Gabriella were allowed to blow out nine candles again, and of course the royals did not let that pass them by. Big sister Jazmin Grimaldi also commemorates the twins’ birthday and treats us to some cute snapshots.
Birthday
This weekend marked exactly nine years since the twins of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene were born. Although this undoubtedly resulted in a big party, a huge cake and many ceremonies, the general public did not experience much of it. Jacques and Gabriella are put in and out of the spotlight at different times, and you never know when that will happen.
Big sister
However, there was someone who put the twins in the spotlight. Jazmin Grimaldi posted on Instagram yesterday, a day late, but still, some sweet snapshots with her half-brother and sister. “Happy ninth birthday to my brother Jacques and my sister Gabriella,” she writes in the photo series. “Swipe for more sibling love!”

In the snapshots we see the twins alone, and with big sister Jazmin. The fact that they appear together in one snapshot now seems obvious, but that was not always the case. While Jacques and Gabriella of course have a title, Jazmin does not. She is one of Prince Albert’s illegitimate daughters and therefore never received a title.
Illegitimate daughter
Grace Kelly’s granddaughter grew up in California and only met her father, Prince Albert of Monaco, for the first time when she was 11. A few years later, the rest of the world also discovered who her father was. “I was 14, about to go to high school, when it came out in the media that my father had a daughter, and it was me,” Jazmin told Harper’s Bazaar. “It’s a difficult time for all young adults, and it took some getting used to suddenly being in the spotlight. But I knew it would come one day.”
Jazmin has now been able to get used to the spotlight, because today she is making waves as an actress. She lives in New York, but in her busy life she still regularly makes time for her brother and sister. Sweet!
