‘The sweetest, nicest and prettiest there is’
James, the son of Chantal Janzen and her husband Marco Geeratz, turned fifteen today. An opportunity that Chantal seizes as an opportunity to put her first-born child in the spotlight.
Looking back on childbirth
Chantal starts with a throwback to exactly fifteen years ago, when the actress was waiting in a hospital room with a ‘belly like there was an elephant in it’. “I had a planned caesarean section, which we had chosen because our baby was sitting the other way around, with the head up,” she writes. “At 8.25 am the cutest, sweetest baby was born: James.” Aww! The new mother burst with pride. “As I lay shivering in an aluminum foil blanket, a nurse asked me: What happened? According to her, I then shouted loudly and very happily in that room: ‘It’s a boy! He is so handsome! And his name is James!’”

Every birthday
And now, even fifteen years later, Chantal says she is still bursting with pride. Her family hears the above story ‘meekly but sighing’ every birthday of James. “He is still the sweetest, nicest and handsomest there is,” the proud mother continues her story. “With his great musical heart and talent.” James made Chantal a mother for the first time and she states that she got to know the world better through him. “I love seeing how he is now getting to know the world, and I look forward to standing behind, next to, and if necessary, in front of him as parents,” Chantal looks ahead.
First and fourth sons
Although James is Chantal’s first son, he is her husband Marco’s fourth child. He has three children from a previous marriage. After James, Chantal’s youngest son Bobby was born, completing the blended family of five. “15 years ago I really couldn’t imagine that you would love your children more every day. Now I understand that, because it is true,” Chantal continues her story. She ends her message on a humorous note: “PS if any of you here want to perform a caesarean section at home, I have a photo of every step.” Ha!
