Hooray, what a wonderful week awaits us, according to the royal agenda. Luxembourg’s state visit to Belgium starts today. Just like the visit five years ago, it is rainy now. The ladies in particular fight against the wind with their hairstyles and clothing. But that should not spoil the fun.
First of all, Hurray for the Belgian King Philippe, who celebrates his 64th birthday today. Hooray for Princess Eleonore, who celebrates her 16th birthday today (you can read more about her outfit at the bottom of the blog). And also Hurray for the Luxembourg Grand Duke Henri, nephew of the king, who celebrated his 69th birthday yesterday and for his youngest son Prince Sebastièn, who turned 32 today.
Henri and Maria Teresa were already in Belgium yesterday, and the two cousins had a nice cake together and each blew out a candle. Nice that photos were released. A nice warm-up for the state visit.
Yesterday we also had a warm-up here on fashion queen Maxima. We looked back on Belgium’s state visit to Luxembourg in 2019, and discussed which gowns Queen Mathilde (and Princess Elisabeth?) could wear.

Fashion Mathilde
Queen Mathilde is dressed in a new light pink outfit with a pattern. The new light pink hat and handbag are made of the same fabric. Mathilde’s robe manteau, hat and handbag were designed by fashion house Christian Dior.
The 7-row pearl necklace that Mathilde wears has been around for quite some time. She wore it regularly at the beginning of her royal life, until it disappeared from view in 2010. During a Eucharist celebration in February 2022, the jewel resurfaced and is present again today.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa opts for a dark blue midi dress with v-neck and a knotted detail at the front. Outside she wears a patterned cloak.
Fashion princess Eléonore
Princess Eléonore wears a white top from Claudie Pierlot with cobalt blue trousers from Zara in the newly released photos.
