The year 2023 is coming to an end – and it brought with it some bereavements. In the past few months, fans have had to say goodbye to many an idol. The death of actress Ingrid Steeger (76) and politician Wolfgang Schäuble (81) recently shocked the German celebrity world. At the end of the year, Glamial has another list for you: Unfortunately, these stars are now being mourned.
In January, many fans were particularly surprised by the death of Lisa Marie Presley (✝54) – the daughter of Elvis Presley (✝42) died after a cosmetic procedure. The admirers of Rosi Mittermaier (✝72) also had to say goodbye at the beginning of the year. The former ski racer died after a serious illness. Track and field athlete Tim Lobinger (✝50), who lost his battle against cancer after many years, followed in February. Three months later, the music world mourned – because the legendary singer Tina Turner (✝83) died in Switzerland at the age of 83. Helmut Berger (✝78) was also laid to rest in the same month.
There were also deaths in the summer. The US actor Treat Williams (✝71) died in June, and in July there were several tragic farewells: The cause of death of Sinéad O’Connor (✝56) is still unknown to this day. In the case of Angus Cloud (✝25), known from the series Euphoria, an overdose of several drugs was revealed as the reason. Robert De Niro (80) finally had to bury his grandson in July – Leandro De Niro Rodriguez (✝19) succumbed to a drug cocktail.
The fans of the legendary boxer René Weller (✝69) said goodbye to him at the end of August – the athlete died at the age of 69. The actors followed suit a month later Michael Gambon (✝82) and David McCallum (✝90). The Harry Potter star and the NCIS actor were 82 and 90 years old. One of the most surprising deaths was that of Matthew Perry (✝54). The Friends star was only 54 years old.
And several well-known personalities also died in the winter. Pop star Heino (85) mourns his wife – Hannelore Kramm (✝81) died after 44 years together. And the former First Lady of the USA, Rosalynn Carter (96), also fell asleep peacefully at the age of 96. At the end of the year, several deaths followed one another. Aaron Carter’s (✝34) sister Bobbie Jean (41), the singer and presenter Gunther Emmerlich (79) and reality TV star Anna Cardwell (✝29) died. The farewell to Alfio De Benedictis also came as a huge surprise to Berlin – Day & Night fans.
