Omid Scobie admits his mistake! His book “Endgame” revealed some juicy details about the British royal family. Among other things, the topic is that Duchess Meghan (42) and Prince Harry (39) claimed that members of the Royal Family were worried about the color of their son’s skin. In the Dutch version of the book, two names are mentioned in this context: King Charles III. (75) and Princess Kate (41). A huge mistake, as the journalist always claimed. But now Omid suddenly admits a mistake!
The author explains to i Newspaper that there was actually an error in the translation. “Unbeknownst to me at the time, the Dutch publisher was provided with an initial and untested text,” admits Omid. The translator then began his work and it was actually assumed that the text would be checked and approved again before it was published. Apparently that didn’t happen!
Although Omid admits this mistake, he also seems to deny the blame – he only worked with the publishers who distribute the books in the US and UK. He spent “almost two months with independent British lawyers and in-house counsel to ensure that every detail of the finished book was legally watertight.” According to him, he had nothing to do with the Dutch version.
