Royally approved: the shoes from LK Bennett

What are the royals walking with and on their way? Our shoe blog Linda van Deventer knows all about this and will tell you this time about the magic of LK Bennett.

Linda: “The British brand LK Bennett was founded by Linda Bennett, an English fashion designer and entrepreneur. Before starting her career, she had completed management training and training as a shoe designer at what is now the London College of Fashion. In 1990 she opened her first store in Wimbledon, London. The brand is quickly becoming popular thanks to its modern mix of style and femininity. The kitten heel pumps were LK Bennett’s trademark in the early years. The label opens stores all over the world, but London remains the place where all items are designed.

Because LK Bennett grew from one company after another, Linda sold 70% of her company to a luxury investment company in 2007. Linda will remain on the company’s board. In 2019, the company was bought by a Chinese entrepreneur and unfortunately the brand was doing very poorly during the corona crisis: stores had to close and many employees were also laid off. Fortunately, the brand managed to survive and in 2022 LK Bennett won the Draper’s Women’s Footwear ‘Brand of the Year’ award, which is one of the reasons why the brand is once again in the spotlight.

LK Bennett’s shoes are popular at the British court. In 2005, Linda Bennett was even allowed to design Camilla’s wedding shoes.

Catherine also discovers the magic of LK Bennett early in her royal life. So buy several wedges….

Although we haven’t seen them at Maxima for a while, she has the model – called Sledge – in several colors.

Mary from Denmark has now also discovered the brand in terms of clothing and accessories. In the photo below she is wearing a royal blue dress from LK Bennett.

Victoria of Sweden also has a blue LK Bennett dress in her closet.

We no longer see most royals outside England with this brand much. Shame, as far as I’m concerned. The designs have indeed kept up with the times. Zara Tindall from England still wore pumps from the brand during the coronation, which shows that you can definitely go to LK Bennett for shoes with a pointed toe (which we mainly see the royals wearing lately).

In the Netherlands you can go to De Bijenkorf for both shoes and clothing from LK Bennett. Some examples.

Black pumps with pointed toe and decorative buckle.

Green dress with spaghetti straps.

A la Máxima: dark blue pumps with a pointed nose and stiletto heel.

Nice for a wedding: pink sheath dress with modest puff sleeves.

Here you can see the entire range.
