A world of difference!
In addition to the festive Together at Christmas event last weekend, the British royals added a Christmassy touch. King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as the Waleses, shared their festive Christmas card. And that means we can enjoy some sweet family snaps again!
Regal photo
First of all: the royal couple’s Christmas card. A card that, if we may be honest, still feels a bit impersonal. This way we don’t get to see a sweet behind the scenes photo of the couple or at least a personal message, but they keep it as regal and neutral as possible with a photo of the Coronation.

“We wish you a very Merry Christmas and New Year,” the inside of the card reads. Well. We assume that King Charles will include a small personal look back on a very special year in his Christmas speech. Otherwise it is all very cold and royal.
Sweet family photo
Luckily, the Waleses don’t disappoint with their beautiful Christmas photo! William and Kate joined forces with photographer Josh Sinner for a snap with their offspring George, Charlotte, and Louis. And the end result is impressive!

“Our family Christmas card for 2023,” they write with the beautiful black and white portrait. In the photo, the Waleses are dressed nicely in white blouses and shirts and dark trousers or jeans. Casual and royal, that’s how it can be.
In addition, the photographer gives us a small behind-the-scenes snapshot of the shoot. For example, he shared in a small doodle how he originally had the portrait in mind:

But yes, little Waleses grow up, and we bet it would have been a lot of cramming to fit Charlotte and Louis on that stately chair. Shinner also shares the photo itself, providing a little glimpse into the shoot.
“It was a pleasure to photograph the Prince and Princess of Wales and their family for their Christmas portrait this year. Without a doubt one of the most relaxing and enjoyable sessions I have ever had,” he reflects. Moreover, he reveals that the young princes and princess had a lot of laughs: “I now have a whole new set of jokes that are exactly at my level, thanks to the children…” That bodes well for when they become young adult royals in the spotlight will be on!
