Prince William honors deceased mother during Diana Awards speech

“She taught me that everyone has the potential to give back.”

Although the late Princess Diana has been with us for more than 25 years, her legacy still lives on. His dear son Prince William said beautiful words last night during the twenty-fifth edition of the Diana Awards.

Last night was all about the Diana Awards, a charity that hands out prizes every year to young people who want to change the world. Every two years, the so-called Legacy Awards are presented to a selection of previous winners of such a coveted Diana Award. Last night William was the one who addressed attendees at the event and presented the winners with their prizes.

“This evening is extra special because it is the 25th anniversary of the Diana Award: an organization we founded to promote my mother’s belief that young people can change the world,” William addressed the audience.

“I know she would be honored to see that we have established a charity in her name that continues to do such inspiring work and celebrate young people from all corners of the world,” said her proud son. “She taught me that everyone has the potential to give back, and that everyone who needs it deserves a helping hand.”

Prince Harry then took over. He talked to the prize winners about their achievements and further plans.

Chilled brothers

To say that the bond between Wills and Haz has cooled a bit would be the understatement of the century. The Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex are reportedly unable to meet or see each other. But despite everything, the brothers are not afraid to put their differences aside for their mother’s charity organization. So both their highnesses made an appearance at the same event last night.

By the way, we didn’t have to expect a warm reunion on stage. No: only William was there in person, and Harry only showed his royal nose via a video connection.
