Sometimes she opts for a long evening dress, other times for trousers and a blazer. It is therefore difficult to guess what Máxima will wear tonight during the King’s Day concert. But we can vote for the most beautiful look of the past ten years.
In 2014, the queen went for the classic of classics: a little black dress from Azzaro. You can’t see it in this photo, but the design has a long row of shiny buttons on the left side.
In 2015, the queen chose a dress that is still one of my favorites: a blue-black one from Michael Kors.
In 2016, the queen opted for trousers from 2002 and a Natan blazer from 2010. Two large spider brooches complete the picture.
In 2017, the choice fell on a new, long floral dress from Giambattista Valli.
In 2018, the choice again fell on a long dress. This time a tie dress from Mary Katrantzou.
In 2019, the skirt length increased again and the queen wore a knee-length sequin dress by Claes Iversen.
There were no King’s Day concerts in 2020 and 2021 due to corona. The thread was picked up again in Maastricht in 2022. This time the queen wore a velvet trapeze dress from Zeus + Dione.
Last year, in Rotterdam, she appeared on the carpet in red. The chiffon maxi dress comes from the American designer Rebecca Ravenel.
Just vote!
So after ten years we have seen a long dress four times, three times a knee-length dress and once a pair of trousers. Only in 2017 a new outfit appeared. So we can go in any direction tonight, but I expect (even after all the criticism about Máxima’s luxurious life and the EenVandaag polls) that she will opt for a well-known design. I’m hoping for the soft pink dress of the Christmas Music Gala 2021. After more than a two-year break, the garment is definitely ready for an evening of shining.
