‘Who knows, there might be an angel from above who will send me a new baby’
In Echte Gooische Moeders, Pauline Wingelaar spoke candidly about the death of her prematurely born daughter Belle. In an exclusive interview with Glamial, the cheerful blonde now shares that her wish for a fourth child is still there.
Crazy mother
“I am mother goose,” says Pauline about how she sees herself as a mother. “I wish I could cram my work into two or three days and the rest of the time I could be that fun mother who goes along to sports clubs and school activities. I always feel like I’m falling short. Shortcomings in my work, shortcomings as a mother, shortcomings as a woman. I am a strict and fair mother, but also a clown. My mother always says to the children: ‘What are you going to do with such a crazy mother?’”
Want to have children
Although she enjoys her family as it is now, Pauline shares that the desire for a fourth child is still there. “I don’t know if I would want to go through a whole IVF process. Harmen (her husband, ed.) does, I just find it very scary, I’m afraid that things will go wrong again. But we do fantasize about it, like: who knows, maybe it will happen this holiday, there will be an angel from above who will send me a new baby.”
Me time
Drop the kids every now and then to enjoy some me-time? Didn’t see Pauline. “It should be possible, but I rarely do it. Precisely because we both work a lot, I enjoy spending those other moments with the children. For me, me-time also means watching a movie together or having a nice meal.” It is not without reason that she calls Harmen the love of her life. “We have been together for seventeen years, have experienced joy and sorrow and have only become stronger.”
