Over My Corpse viewers are in tears because of Jeffrey’s farewell: “terribly beautiful program”

The latest episode of Over My Corpse again causes a lot of tears among viewers. Although there is some room for more ‘light-hearted’ images, the emotions still have the upper hand. The farewell to Jeffrey, who commits euthanasia, in particular affects many people on social media. Not only his story, but also the beautiful message he has for others.

Viewers in tears ‘Over My Corpse’

Every week viewers of Over My Corpse experience another great vale of tears. The stories of the main characters from the tenth season are very beautiful, but of course also terribly emotional. Fortunately for the viewers, the latest episode starts off somewhat ‘lightly’ with Eva’s 25 for life party. Although the birthday party does have a strong underlying message. For example, Eva is not one hundred percent sure at that moment whether she will reach the age of 26. That’s why she tries to get the most out of life while she still can. “Enjoy today and not tomorrow. Don’t look too far into the future and live now,” says Eva.

That is a message that the other main characters in Over My Corpse also adhere to. 32-year-old Jegor really enjoys life with his girlfriend Daisy, who, to their great happiness, has also become pregnant. In episode 7 the time has finally come: Daisy is going to give birth!

First child for Yegor

Fortunately, the birth goes well and Jegor and Daisy have their first child: son Lev. Of course, presenter Tim Hofman quickly visits the new parents with a maternity gift. “I still find it very strange,” says Jegor. “He does determine our lives now.” That sounds good to Tim. “I think that’s a nice switch then?” he suggests. “I think it was something else before, what was driving your life.” The arrival of their first child is indeed a nice distraction for both Jegor and Daisy. Sometimes he doesn’t think about the “stupid cancer” for whole days. “This is much more important. You put all your energy into this,” said Jegor. The future of son Lev may have become more important than his own future. Jegor feels more pressure to let his son live, but therefore also wants to live longer. “You live for someone else,” Daisy adds. He is also less afraid of death. “If it happens, it happens,” he says. “Until then, I’ll try to give him the best.” Aww…

Farewell Jeffrey

Jeffrey from Over My Corpse probably did that for years. However, his life with cancer is now slowly coming to an end. At one point he sits at the table with his family, including the children, where they talk to the funeral director about euthanasia. Jeffrey’s health deteriorated very quickly at one point due to an abscess. Everything was hidden and that is not good at all. “That’s really where it ends,” Jeffrey said.

He wants to leave everything well for his wife Trudy and their children. So the house must be finished. Only he will not experience the result himself. “I think that sucks,” he responds. He notices that he is weakening more every day. That is why he is not afraid of death, he says later at the cemetery of his favorite grandfather. This is also where he will be located. Death would now feel like a relief, also for Jeffrey’s wife Trudy. “Jef is going to suffer more now,” she explains. “And he didn’t want that ordeal. He said that right away when the diagnosis came.”

No agony

Jeffrey also saw Trudy’s mother suffer, who no longer had a choice. “That also made him say: I’m really not going to do this,” says Trudy. Jeffrey says he came into the world with a smile and wants to leave with a smile. He wants to be remembered as a cheerful man. “Who is always there for everyone and who would never give up,” he says. In addition, he always has respect for other people. That is also a message to others: “Stay to yourself and respect everyone.” Nice!

Ultimately, Jeffrey saw the new sliding doors, living room and walls. Then it’s time for him to go. Of course not without saying goodbye to Tim. Fortunately, he experienced less pain in the last moments of his life. “Have a good trip,” Tim says, giving Jeffrey a final handshake. On social media channel
