After an intensive working visit to Georgia and New York, Máxima’s work was not yet over. In Delfzijl this afternoon she baptized not one, but two ships. And all that in a new outfit from Claes Iversen!
The naming of the two ships takes place during the maritime event DelfSail, which is being held for the seventh time. In addition to the ‘Máxima’, the ‘Alexia’ will also be baptized. Both ships are one hundred and fifty meters long and sixteen meters wide and have a loading capacity of 14,000 tons. They were built sustainably on behalf of Wagenborg at its own shipyard Royal Niestern Sander in Delfzijl. Both ships are used for the worldwide transport of various products, such as paper, steel, raw materials and grain.
Because christening a ship bareheaded is said to bring bad luck, the dress code requires a hat. Máxima dug into her suitcases from that week and found the dark green calotte that she wore yesterday with a light blue dress. This time she combined the accessory with a new trouser suit from Claes Iversen.

The Dutch designer showed his new collection a few months earlier, which was inspired by an earlier bridal line. The white creations turned out to be just as beautiful in a festive color. To emphasize the addition of a bright color palette, the designer also added some embroidered paint splatter creations. Máxima’s pantsuit is one of them.

As you could read in my report on the fashion show at the time, I was already hoping to purchase a fashionable paint splatter.
