That bodes very well!
Good news for all Dancing Queens among us: today a lot of new names were announced for the cast of Mamma Mia! The Party. And we can reveal: that bodes very well.
New names
In addition to Kaj van der Voort, Horace Cohen, Jeannine La Rose and Belle Zimmerman will also play leading roles in the festive, brand new show Mamma Mia! The Party by Björn Ulvaeaus. From September they will shine in the Rotterdam Schiecentrale in a specially built Greek Tavern.
It was previously revealed that Kaj will play a leading role. He plays Adam, who falls in love with the daughter of Nikos, the tavern owner. Nikos is played by Horace Cohen. Belle Zimmerman stars as his daughter Konstantina. Actress and singer Jeannine La Rose, who received a Musical Award in 2019 for her role in The Color Purple, takes on the role of chef Debbie.
A big party
The actors can’t wait to start this adventure. “Mamma Mia! We saw The Party in London and it is a big party,” says Horace. “The actors walk past the tables and as an audience you are really part of the story. Of course, with a lot of ABBA songs, the audience can never stay seated for long. It is a unique experience and it is fantastic that I can be part of it.”
Jeannine is also really looking forward to it. “It’s going to be such a big party,” she says. “I grew up with ABBA’s music through my grandmother. From September I can start singing these beautiful songs.” The remaining roles will be announced at a later date.
Mamma Mia! The Party
What exactly you can expect from Mamma Mia! The Party? The venue in Rotterdam will be converted into Nikos’ Taverna especially for the show. In the colorful Greek taverna on an old town square on the Greek island of Skopelos you will feel completely in a Greek atmosphere. A moving love story takes place in the middle of the audience, full of dazzling dance and the most famous ABBA songs. During the four-hour program you will enjoy a Mediterranean four-course dinner. After the show, the cozy village square turns into a disco full of glitter & glamor where everyone can dance to their heart’s content during the afterparty to swinging classics. And, there is only one house rule: ‘Have the time of your life!’
Mamma Mia! The Party can be seen exclusively at the Schiecentrale in Rotterdam from September 2024 to January 2025. We can’t wait!
