In Married At First Sight, participants are matched based on science, after which they immediately tie the knot. In the latest episode it is Anneke and Dirk’s turn, who first of course go on the hunt for wedding clothes. However, Anneke makes a few mistakes during her search for a wedding dress. It almost becomes a fashion disaster, but fortunately there are good clothing makers!
Anneke and Dirk in Married At First Sight
Older people sometimes also want to tie the knot. For example, this season of Married At First Sight, 60-year-old Anneke and 67-year-old Dirk participate in the love experiment. Although both participants are old, they are young at heart. For example, the energetic Anneke regularly plays a game of tennis in her spare time. She also has a large group of friends. Unfortunately, love alone doesn’t work out yet. Of course, she has a past behind her. She was once married like that. Unfortunately, her husband passed away due to a serious illness. Fortunately, she has now gotten over that and is ready for a new partner. But hopefully not a bad man, who she thinks she falls for. She is attracted to well-dressed men with a smooth conversation, and they often turn out to be wrong.
Hopefully Dirk is an exception. He is certainly a striking appearance with his own clothing style, including brightly colored shirts. But Dirk also turns out to be a caring family man, which means he is probably the kind of companion Anneke is looking for. There is no shortage of company in Dirk’s life: he not only has three sons and a daughter, but also six grandchildren. So, hey! He has also been married for a long time, but that turns out not to be the right relationship. The break up bothered him for a while, but thanks to therapy he has “come to terms with old pain”. Now he is ready for a new love, who hopefully also likes to dance. Dirk likes to do that and, to be precise, a ballroom dance.
Bad choice in wedding dresses
So it bodes well for the first dance during the wedding party. But for a wedding, Anneke and Dirk first need wedding clothes, of course. However, the search for wedding dresses in particular for Anneke produces quite a few responses from viewers on social media. Anneke indicates in advance that she likes an elegant, stylish and classic style. The first wedding dress certainly fits the bill in terms of style. However, the dress does not appear to be very flattering, as Anneke’s friends also see. “You actually have a kind of butt crack on your back,” said one of the friends.
Her friends like the second dress, but Anneke finds it a bit too stiff. Ultimately, she opts for a different dress, which has apparently been approved by both her friends and the store employee. However, viewers on social media channel X still see some snags in the wedding dress. Unfortunately, according to them, it is not the most beautiful wedding dress. Although according to some things apparently go wrong more often this season: “I maintain: this is the season of poorly chosen dresses.”

Fortunately for Anneke (and the viewers), the wedding dress is more tailor-made for the supreme moment. Things are much better when she walks into the wedding hall and comes face to face with her future Dirk.
