King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will meet tonight with representatives of international organizations based in the Netherlands. And that happens in style.
The King gives a short speech during dinner. The evening focuses on the Netherlands as a host country for international organizations.
Minister Bruins Slot of Foreign Affairs, Minister Yeşilgöz – Zegerius of Justice and Security, Minister Kuipers of Health, Welfare and Sport and Minister Van Gennip of Social Affairs and Employment are also present at the dinner.
International organizations, also called intergovernmental organizations, are organizations established by treaty between at least two countries. The Netherlands is a host country for almost forty international organizations. The presence of these organizations promotes the Netherlands’ international network. The organizations also contribute to the innovation climate.
The following international organizations are located in the Netherlands: the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

For dinner, Máxima took out her dress from Prinsjesdag 2019. It is a ruby red column gown made of woolen crepe, combined with a richly embroidered pelerine (short cape). Designer: Jan Taminiau.

On Budget Day 2019, Máxima wore a belt in the fabric of the dress. Tonight’s embroidered belt was previously worn (along with the pelerine) with a red jumpsuit.
Máxima’s diamond earrings have been disassembled from the diadem with the house diamonds, also called the Stuart diadem.
Two ears of corn are incorporated into the knot.
