Máxima’s visit to New York States started in a yellow, altered dress. There were no fewer than two changes of clothing during the day.
The visit to Albany began with a reception with Governor Kathy Hochul of New York at the Governor’s Mansion. After the reception, a conversation took place with the governor and Dutch CEOs of companies active in Albany, an important tech hub of the United States.
Afternoon program
After lunch, the Royal Couple visited NY Creates, a tech hub of New York and one of the most important places in the world for semiconductor research and development.
During the visit, the Royal Couple received a tour of the building, including the ‘clean room’ with an ASML machine. Because they had to wear white suits, Máxima exchanged her dress for a set with trousers.
The linen trousers, silk blouse and silk jackets come from Natan’s studio. You may recognize the set from the state visit to Luxembourg or the regional visit to Southwest Drenthe. The sunglasses are a design by Chanel.
SCHUYLER MANSION
In the Schuyler Mansion, the historic home from 1763 of Dutchmen Philip J. Schuyler and Catharine van Rensselaer, the Royal Couple spoke to young people about climate and a healthy living environment together with Governor Kathy Hochul of New York and other New York politicians.

The day in Albany ended with a networking meeting in the Governors Mansion attended by representatives from the business community, knowledge institutions and the cultural sector. Máxima wore a new, in my opinion very elegant outfit with cape sleeves.

On to the earrings. For the ninth birthday of his daughter Wilhelmina, King Willem ordered a necklace and matching earrings through the Amsterdam jeweler Vita Israëls. Please note: this is not the necklace you see above, but number 1 from this blog. Although Wilhelmina never wore the earrings from the set herself (she did not have ear holes), they have been preserved. Máxima wears them regularly, both in the original and simplified form. Yesterday the simplified version – just the plug – came into view.
