The biggest shock of Married at First Sight had to be Jerney and Jeffrey. Linked by science, these two candidates quickly seemed in love. Although we had given them so much, the love quickly turned out to be extinguished. At least, not with Jerney. How does Jerney look back on the painful break after the adventure?
Bitter pill
For a moment it looked like the experts at Married At First Sight had made two perfect matches this season! But unfortunately, Jeffrey and Jerney’s fairy tale did not end as hoped. Because, during a vacation, Jeffrey realized that he actually didn’t miss Jerney as much as he had expected. It was a bitter pill to swallow for Jerney when Jeffrey decided their marriage wasn’t what he was looking for.
‘I was really crying’
RTL Boulevard talked to Jerney, how did she experience the break? “Of course I was really in love and then you hope that things will turn out well.” The fact that this ultimately did not work hurt her. “I found it really difficult to watch again. I actually cried during episodes.” She continues: “Of course I also encountered a number of things myself: the affection from Jeffrey was a lot less during the couples week than before,” Jerney explains. She decided to speak to Jeffrey about this and he said there was nothing wrong and the two should take it easy.
‘I thought our love was mutual’
And then things went wrong. “We got married in October and divorced at the end of November. Just two weeks after the last filming.” Jerney says she later learned that Jeffrey didn’t find her attractive from the start. “That hurt, because I thought our love was mutual.”
Bonus dad
But what about the Jerney boys? They seemed to get along quite well with their bonus father. In conversation with Kek Mama, Jerney says that this is not too bad. “They were especially sorry for me, but fortunately they were not yet attached to Jeffrey themselves,” says Jerney honestly. “The times they saw Jeffrey, they saw him as friends, not immediately as their new bonus father. The program also provided a lot of guidance from a coach.”
