Just a throwback to the last season of Temptation Island 2023. Do you remember Iris de Waard and her then boyfriend Mitch? They took on that ultimate test of love together and the adventure even ended in a marriage proposal. Mega cute, right? But unfortunately, once back in the Netherlands, it turned out not to be as picture perfect as it seemed. Mitch was soon captivated by another woman. Ouch, that must hurt! Now, a while later, Iris shares her thoughts about this period with Cosmopolitan.
Temptation Island different than expected
Iris admits that Temptation Island was not quite what she expected. But regret? No way! “It was a fun time and a great experience. I’m actually glad I did it. Suppose I had still been together with my ex, for example,” she says. “He cheated, and whether he did it now or later, it probably happened at some point.”
Attention as a trigger
Iris thinks that all the attention after the program may have been the trigger for Mitch to cheat. But in retrospect she is happy with her participation. “At least I’m not married to him now.” Phew, and that was just in the nick of time for Iris.
No more contact, but drama
Nowadays, Iris and Mitch no longer have contact. In fact, for the past six months he has only been able to communicate with her through her lawyer. Drama alert: Mitch’s father (Iris’ ex-father-in-law) also demands money from Iris via a letter from a so-called ‘lawyer’. Say what?! Iris forwarded this to her own lawyer and the police, because she said she was bothered by both gentlemen on a stalker level. Luckily she didn’t hear from them again after that. By the way, the police doubt whether that ‘lawyer’ is real. Sketchy much?

Last summer, Iris and Mitch suddenly announced on Instagram that they had split. Mitch soon confessed that he had cheated and even stayed with the other lady under the guise of ‘time and rest for Iris’. Iris, in turn, shared her heartbreak with her followers on Instagram. Fortunately, she is now doing well again and remains ‘nicely single for the time being’. Mitch is now single again. He is no longer together with the lady for whom he left Iris.
