JK Rowling, the world-famous author of the Harry Potter series, has once again caused a stir on X with her spicy statements about transgender people. In a series of posts on the platform, JK Rowling expressed her views on transgender people, claiming that certain trans women are actually still men. Remarkably, Rowling even wrote that she is willing to end up behind bars for her views.
Arrest
“Freedom of speech and belief is over in Scotland if accurately describing biological sex is considered a criminal offence,” Rowling began her rant on “I am currently out of the country, I look forward to being arrested on my return to the birthplace of the Scottish Enlightenment if what I have written here about transgender people is an offense under the new law.”
‘April 1st’
It doesn’t stop here. Another message follows with a strong sarcastic undertone. Rowling continues: “April 1st. The people I mentioned earlier are of course not women, but just men.”
Declaration
This is not the first time that the children’s book author has taken controversial positions regarding transgender people. Earlier this month, presenter India Willoughby, who was also mentioned in Rowling’s messages, filed a complaint with the police. Rowling is said to have repeatedly addressed Willoughby, who underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2015, as ‘he’ and ‘him’. While Willoughby goes through life as a woman and uses the pronouns ‘she’ and ‘her’ and therefore wants to be addressed that way.

Rowling’s recent comments have sparked much debate and are being condemned by many people worldwide.
