These are the trends for the new year!
Are you about to get started designing a new kitchen? You will soon notice that a lot is possible these days. Consider, for example, the wide variety of colors and materials and the countless kitchen appliances that you can incorporate into the design. What are the trends for 2024? What things should you consider when designing a kitchen? How do you get inspiration? You can read all about it in this article.
Inspiration
It helps, for example, to view a number of collections online, such as a beautiful kitchen from Mandemakers Keukens, or to search online for personal blogs. Bloggers regularly share photos of their interiors, which gives you the opportunity to take an unabashed look inside people’s homes. Which materials did they use in the design of the kitchen? What are the must-have appliances based on these kitchens? It offers you inspiration and lets you come up with new ideas for your own kitchen.
More and more households are opting for a luxury kitchen
Luxury kitchens, among other things, are currently extremely popular! That trend will continue in 2024. These luxury kitchens, which are also called designer kitchens, opt for a sleek and functional design. This uses a combination of bold colors and materials. For example, consider a completely black kitchen with a granite or composite countertop. Conversely, you can also consider a completely white kitchen, equipped with a concrete or marble top, for example. Add gold-colored accessories to both kitchens: a gold-colored faucet, gold-colored kitchen cabinet rims, gold-colored handles, and so on.
Tip: a luxury kitchen may not be complete for you without a contemporary wine refrigerator, which you can integrate, for example, under the top of a cooking island.
Natural and sustainable materials in demand
Both in these luxury kitchens and in the design of kitchens in general, natural materials are increasingly used. This can be explained, among other things, by its sustainability. Materials such as wood, granite and composites, for example, last a very long time. It may require a slightly larger investment in advance, but it will pay for itself over a longer period of time. Even after five or ten years, it remains a pleasure to be able to work in your kitchen with cakes, a dinner for the family or fresh bread.
Use of modern high-tech kitchen appliances
Somewhat in line with the growing popularity of luxury kitchens is the preference of households for modern high-tech kitchen appliances. A good example of this is the integrated extraction of unpleasant cooking odors in the induction hob. These integrated extraction systems are equipped with a filter. It is a suitable alternative to the wall-mounted extractor hood, which is often not an ornament in kitchens. You could provide the extractor hood with a cove to neatly conceal it. The disadvantage of this is that a cove takes up a relatively large amount of space. You can also use this space for a number of stylish wooden shelves on the wall. Place preserving jars with various types of pasta, nuts or dried herbs, for example, on the shelves. They are practical, fun accessories!
In addition to induction hobs with an extraction system, more and more kitchens are equipped with a boiling water tap. The Quooker model is very popular here. Instead of just integrating a boiling water tap into your new kitchen, you can also choose the combination of boiling, chilled and sparkling water from the same tap. This way you have the right glass of water for any type of weather and for any time of the day. Just like the integrated extraction system, a boiling water tap also saves space. You no longer need a separate kettle on the countertop.
