A big day for Bronny James! The son of star basketball player LeBron James (38) is following in his dad’s footsteps: He is also a basketball player and plays professionally at college. However, a shocking incident occurred in July: he suffered a cardiac arrest during training. He has now recovered. Now Bronny is on the field for his first basketball game!
The 19-year-old missed the first eight matches of the season because he was still recovering from the cardiac arrest. On Sunday, Bronny played with his USC Trojans team against the boys from Long Beach State University and was on the court for around 13 minutes. Although his team lost, Bronny was still grateful in the press conference afterwards: “I just want to thank everyone who helped me in this situation,” he explained in a video on X.
Bronny’s dad, LeBron, had already spread hope in a press conference in October: his son was on the road to recovery. “If he walked through the door now, you wouldn’t notice that he has what he has because he moves so well,” the 38-year-old explained at the time.
