‘Our funny and adventurous girl!’
Swedish Princess Madeleine is one of those rare royal ladies who has her own Instagram account. She regularly shares sweet snapshots of her family here, which we do not often see in the spotlight. Yesterday the princess put her daughter Leonore in the spotlight with a beautiful photo.
Hip hip for your highness
Little princesses grow up! Princess Madeleine and her family celebrated the birthday of the now ten-year-old Princess Leonore yesterday. Princess Leonore Lilian Maria, Countess of Gotland, was born on February 20, 2014 as the first offspring of Princess Madeleine and her American hubby, businessman Christopher O’Neill.
The young princess has been a real globetrotter from an early age. She was born in New York, moved to London with her parents in 2015, the family left for Florida a few years later, and there are now plans to move back to Sweden, mother’s home country. As if that wasn’t enough, the toddler was even taken to an audience with the Pope in the spring of 2015!

Sweet message
Yesterday, the proud Madeleine put her now ten-year-old daughter in the spotlight via social media. Because, well, such a milestone? That should be celebrated!

With the dreamy snapshot of young Leonore (who has apparently climbed high into a tree), the princess writes: “Happy birthday to our funny and adventurous girl! Never stop climbing all the trees you love and dreaming about all the good things to come. We love you!”
Swedish princess in Florida
As mentioned above, there are concrete plans for Princess Madeleine’s family to move back to Sweden. This was originally supposed to happen in 2023, but due to all kinds of practical matters and a lack of time, it was postponed to 2024.
At the time, a spokesperson for the Swedish court stated that it had nothing to do with any sales problems of the villa in Florida, but in November last year it turned out that the villa had now been significantly discounted from 7.65 million to 7.3 million dollars. It therefore appears that the sale of the house is partly the cause of the delay. Oops!
If the move goes ahead this year (finally), then Princess Leonore will at least have a whole set of new trees to climb in. The adventurous princess will like that!
