In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the Modern Family star reveals that she fully expected the media frenzy that followed the announcement of her marriage’s end: “I knew it was going to happen. You can’t hide things.” Nevertheless, she didn’t find the attention particularly bad. On the contrary: she was rather surprised that the press reported on the separation in a very respectful and nice way. “I thought they would invent more things, you know how it usually is. I was surprised, they just said what happened and that was it,” Sofia spills.
The former lovebirds already asked for privacy in their separation statement. “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. We politely ask that our privacy be respected at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” they told Page Six at the time.
