Mary Roos donates her pension to charities!

She has a big heart. Mary Roos (74) started her career as a singer in the 70s. She took third place at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1972, which made her internationally successful. The “I am strong only with you” interpreter is one of the most famous German pop musicians today. In 2019 she announced her end on the stage after around 50 years. She can enjoy her retirement to the fullest and decides to do a charitable campaign: Mary donates her pension.

In the Bild interview, the artist explains: “I decided to donate half of the sum to the organization Doctors Without Borders and to the Lower Saxony Neumann animal shelter in Drochtersen.” Mary I’m happy that the money is now finally of use – she has secured herself well: “As a self-employed person, I have saved enough money over the decades that I can live comfortably on it today. And those who have earned well can also do something in the end hand over.”

Mary explained that she first had to submit an application to the pension insurance in order to be able to receive the corresponding amount. The 74-year-old is therefore entitled to 160 euros. “They explained to me that I can only pass it on if I have my pension paid out,” he added Mary added in conversation.
