Nobody would have expected that! Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (51) had been under contract with WWE since 1996 and was one of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era. Over the years, the professional wrestler won a world title there ten times. In August 2019, the actor officially announced his retirement from wrestling. At the turn of the year, however, comes the big surprise: The Rock returns to the ring!
At the first WWE Raw of the year in San Diego, the 51-year-old caused a real hit: The Rock actually celebrated his comeback in front of over 11,000 spectators! But that’s not all: He indirectly challenged his cousin Roman Reigns (38) – better known as Head of the Table – to a fight. So it looks like viewers can soon look forward to the long-awaited match between the two!
Wrestling is apparently in the Johnson family’s blood: In October 2022, his daughter Simone was introduced as a member of Schism under her ring name Ava Raine. Her first wrestling match took place in April last year. “She’s incredibly independent. It’s very important for her to go her own way,” explained Dwayne told Entertainment Tonight and emphasized, “I’m here watching and supporting her.”
