This artist will represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest

A dream come true for the singer.

There were more than six hundred entries, but the selection committee of the Eurovision Song Contest has now finally made the choice who will represent the Netherlands in Sweden next year. The lucky one is none other than Joost Klein.

Submissions

For months, Joost Klein hinted via his social media that he really wanted to go to the Eurovision Song Contest for the Netherlands. However, the singer did face a lot of competition, because countless other celebrities had also submitted a song. The Eurovision Song Contest committee could choose from, among others, The Jordan, Bankzitters, April Darby and Numidia.

Hit potential

Ultimately, the committee chose Joost’s number. “There were many entries from all kinds of genres, but in our opinion his entry has the greatest hit potential,” says Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen, chairman of the selection committee.” You hear his well-known combination of party and nostalgia in the song. We think that Joost will put on a great act with his creativity and positively surprise the Netherlands and Europe.”

Dream

Joost has dreamed of participating in the Eurovision Song Contest since he was little. “I used to watch it every year with my parents, glued to the TV. It is an honor to represent the Netherlands and I will do everything I can to achieve the best result.” The Eurovision Song Contest starts on May 7, 2024 in the Swedish city of Malmö. It is not yet known which song Joost will participate in.
