Oos Kesbeke was born in Amsterdam in Kattenburg. The family has been investing since 1948. It is a real Amsterdam company, but was founded in Zeeland. His father and grandfather ran the company for a long time, until Oos took it over. He spent a lot of time in the factory as a child.
Career
Work in the factory was brought to him from an early age and it was therefore almost self-evident that he would take over the family business. At first, Oos always helped sort coins and bills that his father had collected from fishmongers the day before. During the summer holidays he worked in the factory. Today, Oos runs the factory together with his own sons Camiel and Silvian and with a team around them that really feels like a family. One day, Camile and Silvian will take over all of Oos’s tasks, but for now he will look over their shoulders.
Power Oos Kesbeke
Oos has multiple sources of income, which starts with the assets of Oosies Smulpot BV, the 2023 annual report states €8 million. He then has five more buildings to his name, including the factory where it all happens in the series De Gurkenkoning. In 1999, a mortgage of €2.2 million was established (at that time it was five million guilders). All in all, it is estimated that Kesbeke is worth at least €9 million.
