Ammarie, Paul’s sister who found love with Debbie in Spain last year during B&B Vol Liefde, traveled to France in good spirits to meet Thijz there. At first glance the two seemed like a match made in heaven, but nothing could be further from the truth.
A promising start during B&B Vol Liefde
In the beginning, something beautiful seemed to blossom between Ammarie and Thijz. They had a nice time together and Ammarie of course had an advantage with her inside information about the program. But then Thijz suddenly announced that it would be better if Ammarie left for another campsite. Say what?! In conversation with Shownieuws she now explains what this did to her. “I thought, huh? We’re still discovering whether it will work out and we’re still having fun together? Going to another campsite didn’t feel right to me.”
The true nature of Thijz
After this bizarre request, Ammarie saw a completely different side of Thijz. “After that, there were no more two women at the same time. Thijz couldn’t handle that. He is a sensitive and vulnerable man who, as soon as someone gets too close, puts up a wall. He is very rigorous. With him it is yes or no, there there’s nothing in between.”
Two Faces
During the reunion episode, Thijz made his contribution via a video connection, while the other participants arrived in the Netherlands. His answers were vague and unclear, which in retrospect was quite funny according to Ammarie: “I got to know two Thijs. On the one hand he is an adult, and on the other hand a small, recalcitrant boy. One Thijz was the man who I would have liked to see more, with the other I thought: ‘My God’.”
Lessons learned
Although the adventure with Thijz did not provide the fairytale ending that Ammarie was hoping for, she undoubtedly learned a lot about herself and what she is looking for in a partner. Sometimes someone seems perfect at first glance, but later turns out to be disappointing. That’s part of the game in the search for true love. Who knows what the future has in store for Ammarie? Maybe she will find her dream man outside the spotlight of television. Until then, she can at least look back on a special experience during B&B Vol Liefde and a good story to tell at parties. Because let’s be honest, not everyone can say that they participated in B&B Vol Liefde!
