This adorable gesture from Diana for Prince Harry melts our hearts

The princess has always remained wonderfully normal, that is evident.

Although the late Princess Diana has been with us for more than 25 years, her legacy still lives on in memories, photos and stories. This sweet fact about the bond between the princess and her youngest son Harry is proof of that.

Normal upbringing

Princess Diana adored her two sons. Unfortunately, she was only able to experience part of their childhood. When the princess died in 1997, Prince William was 15 years old and Prince Harry was only 12. She impressed many people around the world with how down to earth she was. This was also reflected in the way she raised William and Harry. Even though they are princes, she wanted them to grow up as normally as possible. For example, she insisted that her sons not get too many presents at Christmas. Instead, some of the gifts were given to people in poverty. Prince William was also the first heir to the British throne to attend public school.

Respect and vice

Other things that ‘The People’s Princess’ was known for in raising her sons was that she felt it was important for them to connect. They had to regularly chat with the staff and learned that those people were like family to them. They were also allowed to be naughty, as long as they didn’t get caught. Diana showered William and Harry with love both privately and publicly and was very proud of them.

Consent on a note

Carolyn Robb was formerly the family chef to Prince Charles and Princess Diana. She revealed a touching fact to Fatherly about Prince Harry’s upbringing. This shows once again how special the bond between Harry and his mother was. The story goes like this: Harry wanted one of his favorite desserts for breakfast. Robb said that would require Diana’s permission first. Harry stormed out of the room to ask his mother and returned with a note. It said ‘Mummy says it’s okay!’ written. The little prince then enjoyed a sweet breakfast. A touching moment that once again proves how wonderfully normal Diana has remained despite her royal status.
