Sometimes you see films that stay with you for a long time. They touch you, make you laugh or make you look at the world differently. They offer a new perspective that you will think back on after the film and far beyond the cinema. Here are some examples and recommendations.
3 films that make you look at life differently
The Truman Show
This film sketches the life of Truman Burbank. A man who has been captured by cameras since birth and was made into a television series called ‘The Truman Show’. Everything around him has been played by actors and extras and everything has been recreated in a studio. There’s just one important thing: he has no idea himself. Everything around him is going well. He is married to a nurse, has a good boyfriend and regularly visits his elderly mother. Rarely does anything serious happen, but he slowly discovers that everything around him is a little too perfect. It is a moving film that makes you think about how far you can go in the media and, from the moment you see the film, gives you the feeling that you are sometimes in a television series yourself.

All of Us Strangers
In this film, a screenwriter develops a relationship with his mysterious neighbor while he is drawn back to his childhood home. Here his deceased parents seem to still be alive as when they died thirty years ago. There are several recurring themes that are beautifully depicted: loneliness, grief and allowing others into your life. It is a beautiful film that reminds you of your youth and childhood. How you take everything for granted and sometimes don’t think about what you have until it disappears. It is intense, sad and confrontational, but at the same time beautifully played by Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal. With this combination everything is going well.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
If you could, would you erase all your memories with your ex from your memory? That’s what you think about after watching this movie. The film follows Joel Barish and Clementine Kruczynski, who have ended their relationship. In response, Clementine undergoes a procedure to erase the memories of her former boyfriend Joel from her mind. When Joel realizes this, he decides to do the same. He slowly begins to forget the woman he loved as he relives all their memories together. Until he regrets his choice. The film makes you think about the importance of memories: no matter how annoying they are, they make you who you are.
