A big compliment to the makers!
Watching a series about your own life and that of your family: madness for most people – reality for the British royals. The Crown is wonderful viewing material for us, but we can imagine that they think differently within the palace walls. Yet there is one British royal who has admitted to being a big fan of the series.
Maxima
Our own Máxima was very clear about this during the annual photo session last summer: MÁXIMA, the series that will soon be released on Videoland, is not watched in her house. At least: not by her. It wouldn’t surprise us if the A’s are secretly curious about a series about their mother’s life.
Fact checking
The British royals seem to have fewer problems with seeing actors reenact their own life stories. For example, Harry admitted in an interview to occasionally turning on The Crown, “Even if only to fact check.” Edward and Sophie have also been guilty of it and, according to the Daily Express, even encouraged the late Queen Elizabeth to watch.
Criticism
We don’t know for sure, but it is said that even more British royals are going to sit on the couch for The Crown. And not all of them seem to be equally positive about the content of the series. For example, Prince William is said to disagree with the storyline surrounding the late Princess Diana, and Charles is also said to have expressed his dissatisfaction about the reenactment of several events.
Sarah and Eugenie
Yet there is one royal who did watch the series with a big smile, and that is none other than Sarah Ferguson. The Duchess of York told US Weekly that she is a big fan of Jessica Aquilina, the actress who plays her role in The Crown. She also enjoyed watching the wedding between her and Prince Andrew being reenacted. “I thought it was beautifully filmed. The cinematography was excellent. I also loved the way they portrayed my wedding,” said Fergie.
Sarah’s daughter Eugenie also makes no secret of the fact that she enjoys The Crown. “The music is beautiful, the story is very beautiful,” the princess previously said about the series. “It made me proud. I can’t speak for my family, but that’s how it made me feel.”
A duchess and princess who express their admiration for the series: the makers cannot receive a greater compliment, nun?
