Since 2014, Máxima has regularly worn round pearl studs with a diamond frame. And there’s something strange going on with that.
The earring consists of a large, round pearl, which is framed by 18 diamonds. There is a hook hidden under the bottom diamond, so that the earring can be extended with a (pearl) pendant.
When it debuted in 2014, the pearl earring was surrounded by colorless diamonds. During the state visit to Australia (November 2016), strangely enough, a yellow stone suddenly appeared in the row of diamonds. After a while a second one followed and the set now features three yellow stones.
At first I thought: could it be the reflection of the skin, or something along those lines? But even in photos taken from behind, you can see the orange/yellow stones. They also always show up in exactly the same place. With the left earring 6, seen from the bottom center, on the left, with the right earring 6 and 7, seen from the bottom center, on the left.
What would the story be anyway? Could the three orange/yellow stones represent her three daughters? Are they three fallen diamonds that have been replaced by cheaper or more expensive stones? Riddles, riddles, riddles! I’m very curious what you think about it.
