It would be better to roast a potato with the shiny side inwards because the potato will then cook better. But is that really the case?

If you are now convinced of the logic and believe that the different sides both have a different function, we have bad news for you. That doesn’t seem to be the case at all. Some chefs even notice that the shiny side sometimes rubs off on the food they prepare.

We do not fully know whether the two sides have an effect on preparing food, but we do know that aluminum foil is good for various other things. The multifunctionality ensures that you can easily polish silver cutlery with the foil, and you can also use it as padding when wrapping dishes and gifts.
