He is said to have been struggling with health problems – including Parkinson’s and dementia – for some time. Many celebrities and athletes have now commented on the difficult loss. In an open letter published on the FC Bayern Munich website, the football star dedicated a few emotional lines to his late ex-colleague. “What impressed me most about him over the years: people always looked up to him – but he never looked down on others,” he remembers Franz. Sepp is convinced that there is no one left today who is like his friend. And if it weren’t for him, German football would, according to the keeper, have had some of its successes. “What else would I like to say to you now? That you should please wait for me in heaven.
