Royal nails don’t have to have a royal price tag, it turns out.
We won’t be seeing Kate with very flashy nails anytime soon – after all, that is not part of etiquette. Yet the princess regularly appears with subtly painted nails, and we have discovered which polish is her favorite.
Kate’s favorites
Kate is a favorite royal style icon for many. We want to know everything about the princess: from what she eats for breakfast to what clothes she wears. We have now been able to identify quite a few of Kate’s favorites. We know what her favorite bag is, what dessert she prefers to eat, what perfume she wears and what she washes her hair with.
Natural
If there is one faux pas within the royal family, it is brightly colored nails. A black, Barbie pink or – oh my – a green polish? That would not be part of royal etiquette. And then we haven’t even talked about fake nails, which are completely out of the question. In general, princesses and queens adhere to the rule that nothing beats natural. Now you have natural and natural: for years the late Queen Elizabeth used nail polish in Essie’s iconic color Ballet Slipper, a very subtle shade of baby pink.
Favorite nail polish
The Princess of Wales is also a fan of Ballet Slipper from Essie, but this is not her favorite polish from the brand. Kate often wears the color Allure on her nails, a slightly less pink, neutral color. Also So Laque No. 28 Rose Lounge by Bourjois is said to be a favorite of the princess.

A nice bonus: both Essie and Bourjois polishes cost less than a tenner. Who would have thought it would be so affordable to have nails like a royal’s. Although we also regularly spot Kate with natural nails. Because yes, even a princess sometimes doesn’t feel like picking up the nail polish again.
